Wang Xiaohui, executive deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and his delegation visited Jilin province in Northeast China on Jan 28.

During his visit to Jilin, Wang investigated the reform and development of Changchun Film Studio, the first film studio to begin operations after the establishment of the People's Republic of China, and reviewed the preparation work for the parallel session of the 2019 CCTV Spring Festival Evening Gala.

Bayanqolu, Party chief of Jilin province, and Jing Junhai, governor of the province, met with Wang and the delegation.

Bayanqolu welcomed Wang on behalf of the provincial Party committee and government and expressed his gratitude to the national publicity authority for its concern and support for Jilin’s revitalization.

He said that Changchun Film Studio has focused on creating main-stream realistic films and produced a series of outstanding works of great popularity over the past few years.

By establishing a parallel session in the provincial capital of Changchun the national authorities signaled that they attach great importance to Jilin, Bayanqolu added.

The Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee will further promote Jilin and help more people learn the charm of the province, Wang said, adding that it will continue to help Changchun Film Studio produce more quality cultural products, moving its development to a new level.
