Jilin government is implementing new, intensified efforts to streamline the process of issuing operation permits and licenses to local enterprises. By the end of the year, newly started businesses in Jilin province will receive their business licenses within three days.

Seven steps have been taken to tackle the problems encountered by enterprises during the procedure, according to the News Office of the People's Government of Jilin Province at a press conference on Oct 24.

For instance, an online platform was developed and was put into use on Sept 28. More intelligent and efficient services are now available for Jilin entrepreneurs and investors. Up to now, more than 2,200 companies have been registered and granted administrative approval, costing an average time of no more than 26 hours.

What's more, the registration process is expected to be reduced to less than two days. Market entities will be approved for business activity when they commit to complying with all permitting requirements. Documents that are no longer necessary for administrative approval or which are eligible for self-improvement through market forces will become approval-free.

An evaluation system will also be introduced to help assess the effectiveness of the government's services.

As soon as the Department of Market Management of Jilin Province was established on Oct 18, it took initiative in upgrading its government services, aiming to ease corporate burdens, improve the business environment and energize the market. Wang Shuying, vice director of the newly established department, and several government officials attended the press conference and elaborated on the concrete moves that will be taken in Jilin.

"These measures will be strictly applied in Jilin. Enterprises will enjoy great convenience offered by our government. The reform is the right way in which to meet corporate and public needs and we will continue to work on this course," said Wang.
