Hunchun, a perfect summer resort
|Hunchun is a frontier city bordering both Russia and North Korea in the northern part of China. The gentle temperate maritime climate endows it a beautiful landscape and city dwellers a hospitable personality. There are various tourist attractions within the city that are must see for all.

Seventy-five kilometers away from downtown Hunchun is a place called Fangchuan, also known as "the land of three countries." The 20 square-meters' strip of land forms the boundary of Russia-China-North Korea. All three countries can be overlooked from the observation tower across the river.
The Dome Park at Jingxin wetland in Hunchun is also a famous tourist spot. Formed by saline intrusion, miles of golden sands are surrounded by forests and lakes, earning its name of the "desert within oasis".

The Lotus Park is seen as a spiritually sacred place. The colorful lotus blossoms are the most eye-catching scene during July and August. People flood here to enjoy the gorgeous view and ask for blessings.
The North Korean Village is one of the few places where people can fully experience the authentic North Korean culture in Jilin. The indigenous people here still maintain their ethnic characteristics and traditional customs.

When travelling in Hunchun, tourists can even cook their own pork barbecue. The tender texture and unique flavor can hardly be found anywhere else. One can also try various North Korean style snacks, including glutinous rice cakes, rice sausages and cold noodles.
