Chinese and Russian students celebrate Spring Festival
|A "Happy Spring Festival" event was held at a middle school at Khabarovsk, Russia, on Jan 23 at which Russian students learned about Chinese culture and celebrated Spring Festival with their Chinese visitors.
Both Chinese and Russian students gave traditional performances of their countries, which helped both sides learn about the other's culture. Russian students also performed Chinese songs they had learned during the semester.

A group of Russian boys and girls in Chinese traditional clothes sang "Gongxi Gongxi", a New Year song popular in China, particularly during Spring Festival, and posed to give their best wishes to each other in a Chinese way.
The classical Chinese Fan Dance was also well performed by Russian students, earning praise from artists of both countries.

A grade seven Russian student said after the celebration party that the performances and party help her learn a lot more about Chinese culture and she wished to have a chance to study or work in China.
The event was intended to help Russian students know more about China and its northeastern province of Jilin and to promote further cultural exchanges between the two countries.
