The 20th China Changchun International Agriculture & Foodstuffs Expo (Trade) Fair (CCIAFF) will be held in Changchun, capital city of Northeast China's Jilin province, for 10 days from August 13 to 22.
The CCIAFF 2021, with the theme of "Developing Smart Agriculture, Leading Industrial Development, Enhancing Trading Functions, and Helping Rural Revitalization", will feature 41 activities including brand promotions, facilities and equipment exhibitions, industrial demonstrations and science popularization education, as well as business events and trade forums.
The expo will maximize its positive role in publicizing the country's rural revitalization measures, showcasing high-tech achievements in agriculture, and promoting the trading of agricultural produce. As a large display platform in the agricultural sector, it will also give a stage to showcase expo-themed leisure activities for local people across the province.
This year, new technologies such as big data, 5G and VR will be applied to launch an online agricultural expo, which will fully support online exhibition and sales of exhibitors' products. Recently-emerged expo patterns such as online-and-offline models and live-streaming sales will play an important role in the event.
A digital agriculture zone between Jilin province and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) will debut at the expo as a cross-regional industrial match-up platform. The zone has introduced the traceability of farm produce to realize intelligent management and control.
The expo will display more than 300 newly introduced high-quality germplasm sources, and over 10 advanced technologies and hundreds of advanced facilities and equipment, with a focus on the demonstration and promotion of black soil conservation farming such as the "Lishu Model".
During the event, forums and meetings on rural revitalization and food security, agricultural renewable resources development and Changbai Mountain honey brand building will be held to discuss the development of modern agriculture. A supply and demand cooperation fair, investment promotion briefing, characteristic produce marketing and other featured activities at the expo will bridge the local government and enterprises, as well as exhibitors and purchasers.
The Jilin Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Jilin Agricultural University will work with other research and development institutions to build a technology and variety demonstration base. The Jilin Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Changchun Women's federation and other departments will jointly hold activities such as "online celebrities showing you around the CCIAFF", the straw weaving culture festival and the farmers' sports meeting.
Cities and counties at all levels will also be motivated to participate in the event via setting up branch venues.
