Changchun hosts foreign media tour

A foreign media tour of Changchun, focusing on Shuangyang district, launched on Nov 20. Participants explored the district's cultural heritage and economic advancements by visiting landmarks such as the China Sika Deer Museum, Bowan Deer Industry, Haiyue Pharmaceutical, the Manchu Medicine Museum, and Dong'ao Deer Industry.

Luxiang town, located southeast of Changchun, is celebrated as Hometown of Chinese Sika Deer. The town spans 363 square kilometers and is a hub for deer farming and related industries. In 2016, it was home to over 849 impoverished residents. However, the town has made remarkable progress, achieving stable poverty alleviation by June 2024. The per capita disposable income of farmers reached 25,800 yuan ($3,563) in 2023, a 4 percent year-on-year increase.

The China Sika Deer Museum in Shuangyang, completed in 2020, integrates deer culture, regional heritage, and Manchu traditions. It covers 7,200 square meters and features exhibition halls, cultural displays, and conference facilities, offering a unique glimpse into this specialized industry.

Haiyue Pharmaceutical and Jinhua Pharmaceutical also showcased their innovations. Haiyue is a high-tech company focusing on cutting-edge drug research and industrial tourism. It is currently developing a pharmaceutical park. Meanwhile, Jinhua emphasizes GMP-certified production and offers over 1,000 health products.

The event spotlighted Shuangyang's integration of tradition, innovation, and economic vitality, establishing it as a key player in Changchun's development narrative.
