In January, FAW Hongqi achieved a remarkable milestone as its sales soared, surpassing 40,300 units, marking an 82.9-percent year-on-year increase.

The newly released Hongqi H5 proved to be a standout contender in the automotive market, with sales exceeding 14,800 units. It has consistently maintained sales above 10,000 units for four consecutive months, securing the top position among B-class gasoline sedans priced over 150,000 yuan ($20,894).

Within the 150,000-250,000 yuan B-class gasoline sedan market, the H5 outperformed several established competitors, ranking among the top three in the B-class sedan segment.

Another popular model, the Hongqi HS5, also achieved impressive results in January, with retail sales surpassing 11,200 units. Following two consecutive months of sales exceeding 10,000 units, the HS5 has emerged as the leading Chinese brand model among B-class gasoline SUVs priced over 180,000 yuan.
