The first Audi Q6 e-tron pre-production vehicle rolled off the line on Jan 26, marking the official launch of pre-production at Audi FAW New Energy Vehicle Co. This move is set to propel China's automotive industry towards electrification and sustainability.

Located in the Changchun Automobile Economic and Technological Development Zone, Audi FAW New Energy Vehicle Co is Audi's first production base in China to be dedicated to manufacturing pure electric vehicle models.

As Audi's most advanced production base, Audi FAW New Energy Vehicle Co is designed with an annual production capacity of over 150,000 vehicles. Starting from the end of 2024, it will gradually begin producing four electric vehicle models that have been tailored specifically for the Chinese market: the Audi Q6 e-tron and three models in the Audi A6 e-tron series. By early 2025, these four models will be successively launched in the domestic market.

Audi FAW New Energy Vehicle Co actively implements Audi's global "zero emissions plan" by utilizing 100-percent green energy, recycling 100-percent of its production waste, and achieving 100-percent reutilization of its production and domestic wastewater. These measures were implemented in the hopes that Audi FAW New Energy Vehicle Co will become Audi's first production base in China to achieve "carbon neutrality" upon production commencement.
