2024 Global Game Jam opens in Changchun, Jilin

On Jan 26, the 2024 Global Game Jam - Changchun, China - JAI Station kicked off at the Jilin Animation Institute. The event, conducted in a hybrid format that combines both online and offline participation, brought together gaming enthusiasts from over 20 domestic and international universities as well as enterprise representatives.

This GGJ event, with a total of 887 sites worldwide, included 21 sites in China. The Jilin Animation Institute stood out as the only university site nationwide. It shoulders the honorable mission of facilitating exchanges and learning between universities and enterprises, as well as students and professionals.

The competition adopted a hybrid "online + offline" development model, and challenges participants to create game works within 48 hours. The event provided an opportunity for aspiring game developers to push their limits, refine their skills, and meet like-minded industry professionals, all while collaborating to create engaging game demos.

The 2024 Global Game Jam - Changchun, China - JAI Station not only showcased the creative potential of the gaming community, but also promoted cross-industry and cross-regional collaboration. It served as a platform for fostering innovation and mutual learning, which further solidified its position as a significant event in the global gaming landscape.
