China FAW Group has been actively integrating with and participating in the Belt and Road Initiative, playing a significant role in connecting African development and promoting international cooperation.

In addition to supplying the local market, trucks produced by FAW's South Africa plant are also exported to more than 10 other African countries.

Currently, the monthly production capacity of FAW South Africa has increased from the initial 25 vehicles to over 300 vehicles. According to data from the South African Commercial Vehicle Association, FAW trucks achieved a record 798 unit sales in the first quarter, leading the country's commercial vehicle market for the first time.

In 2014, in cooperation with the China-Africa Development Fund, China FAW established a large-scale localized production factory in the Coega Industrial Development Zone in Nelson Mandela Bay, marking the start of China FAW's extended localized operations in the South African market.

Covering an area of 87,000 square meters, China FAW South Africa's Coega factory includes assembly workshops, specialized vehicle workshops, quality inspection areas, office buildings, exhibition halls, training centers, and finished vehicle parking lots.

It is China FAW's first self-run overseas factory and one of the largest, most advanced, and best-managed medium and heavy-duty truck assembly factories among Chinese auto companies in Africa.

While expanding its production capacity, China FAW has also established a sound commercial vehicle sales and service network. Up to now, three self-operated 4S stores, 26 franchised 4S stores, and a marketing service network consisting of three franchised service providers have been established in South Africa, covering major cities and key transportation routes, as well as radiating to neighboring markets such as Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique.
