Commercial truck giant FAW Jiefang's J7 intelligent vehicles factory was recently selected as a pilot demonstration project for the development of the big data industry in 2022, by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology – making it the only auto manufacturer to be included on the list.

The J7 factory officially started operating in Changchun – capital of Northeast China's Jilin province – after a launch ceremony held last year. Relying on the latest in digital technologies – such as the industrial internet and big data – the smart factory is said to have pioneered unmanned and intelligent tire assembly technology in the global commercial vehicles industry.

In recent years, FAW Jiefang has continued to make efforts in the field of intelligent manufacturing.

The J7, Liuzhou, Qingdao and other intelligent factories have been completed – leading to the integrated application of digital and intelligent systems in a raft of production facilities.

As a result, the company's efficiency of production and operations is said to have greatly improved, while its intelligent manufacturing capabilities have reached level 3 and above.
