Sino-German joint venture FAW-Volkswagen – based in Changchun city in Northeast China's Jilin province – recorded an increase in car sales, with 153,309 new cars (including Audi imported cars) sold in May, a month-on-month increase of 83.7 percent.

From January to May this year, FAW-Volkswagen saw terminal sales of 671,892 new cars (including Audi imported cars).

The cumulative terminal sales in the single month of May and the first five months ranked first in the domestic passenger vehicle industry.

This year, the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic in Changchun, Shanghai, Beijing and other places has had varying degrees of impact on FAW-Volkswagen OEMs, suppliers, logistics, dealers and other related fields.

FAW-Volkswagen quickly restored production capacity while strengthening epidemic prevention measures.

In May, the FAW-Volkswagen Changchun base had a maximum daily output of 3,451 units. The five bases produced 152,000 new vehicles in total, an increase of 176 percent month-on-month.

FAW-Volkswagen was established in 1991, and after 30 years of development, it prides itself on technological innovation as its core driving force.

In the past decade, FAW-Volkswagen has developed a modeling center, acoustic center, and new energy center R&D bases. It boasts the largest comprehensive automobile test site in China.
