Taonan in Northeast China's Jilin province kicked off its "Cultural Gathering: Taonan City Welcomes Spring" event series on April 20, which coincided with its apricot blossom-viewing season and drew in crowds of tourists.
The winter fishing season officially opened on Dec 29 in Zhenlai county in Baicheng city – located in Northeast China's Jilin province – attracting the participation of some 20,000 tourists.
Ji Opera, a typical local opera in Jilin province, is based on er ren zhuan, a genre of local folk dance and song popular in Northeast China.
As the birthplace of the ice lantern, Jilin province has gradually integrated the manufacture of ice lanterns with carving, shaping and architecture.
