Jilin posts holiday tourism revenue of 7.46 billion yuan

Northeast China's Jilin province recently recorded a particularly strong performance in its tourism industry, with revenue generated by the sector during the Spring Festival holiday period coming in at 11.18 billion yuan ($1.66 billion).

This represented impressive year-on-year growth of 33.31 percent, according to local media reports.

Over the seven-day break on Jan 21-27, tourists made 11.55 million trips to the province, a year-on-year increase of 23.61 percent. The growth rate was 3.31 percentage points higher than the national average.

Among the top 10 popular niche destinations for the Spring Festival holiday period according to Mafengwo – a Chinese travel SNS website – Changbai Mountains and Yanji city in Jilin province were selected. What's more, Changbai Mountains topped the list.

Water rafting, snowmobiles, ice fishing, skiing and hot springs in the Changbai Mountains were among the hot favorites of visitors.
