Changchun and Siping – located in Northeast China's Jilin province – were selected on a list of strong national intellectual property or IP city construction pilots, released by the China National Intellectual Property Administration on Aug 11.

Through local applications and recommendations, materials assessments, expert reviews and other procedures, 38 cities and urban areas across the country were identified as demonstration models for the construction of strong national intellectual property cities – and 72 cities and city districts were chosen as pilot cities for the construction of strong national IP cities.

The pilot demonstration period is from July 2022 to June 2025.

Changchun city is among the demonstration cities for the construction of national strong intellectual property cities and Siping city is among the pilot cities for the construction of national strong intellectual property cities.
