In the first three quarters of 2021, construction began or resumed on a total of 420 projects worth more than 5 million yuan ($775,000) in Siping, Northeast China's Jilin province, according to the city's development and reform commission.

Among the projects, 215 are new and 205 are ongoing.

There are 258 projects with investment of more than 50 million yuan, 167 worth more than 100 million yuan, and 21 worth more than 1 billion yuan.

Industrial projects account for 32.6 percent of the total; social projects or projects related to people's livelihoods account for 19 percent; infrastructure projects account for 31.7 percent; ecological and environmental protection projects account for 5.5 percent; and real estate projects account for 11.2 percent.
