The third Songhua River Fish Culture Festival opened with great fanfare and anticipation on May 19 at Lake Songhua Resort in Jilin city, in Northeast China's Jilin province, according to local media reports.

It marked the first outdoor activity held in the city since the current round of the COVID-19 epidemic was effectively controlled.

This year's ongoing event includes a variety of activities, like Songhua River scenic tours, special tastings of Songhua fish delicacies, mountain hiking, kite flying and an immersive camping experience.

The resort continues to carry out epidemic prevention and control and safety management as required, with real-name reservations and strict controls of visitor numbers implemented.

It has set up a special appointment registration phone, as well as real-name registration of personal information and a visitor's health status, to ensure that identity information can be queried and is traceable. The resort is currently receiving no more than 50 percent of its maximum carrying capacity.

Tourists need to undergo a negative nucleic acid test report within 48 hours of arrival, wear masks and maintain a safe distance of 2 meters.

Visitors from medium and high-risk areas and key epidemic-related areas cannot enter the resort for the time being.
