Jilin Beishan Park Scenic Area is located in Jilin city's urban area and known as the "scared ground for nine dragons". The scenic area, with a history of over 300 years, was originally called Jiulong Mountain (Nine Dragon Mountain) and said to be "the emerging place for dragons". Emperor Kangxi and Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) even paid a visit and climbed the mountain for sight-seeing. The legend of "nine dragon culture" adds more mysteries to the "auspicious place".

There are groups of temples in the scenic area and the area is famous for its folk temple fairs. It is said that "Qianshan Temple tops Northeast China, and Beishan Temple fair is better than Qianshan". The Beishan scenic area blends traditional Chinese culture including Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism and folk culture, integrates human landscapes including temples, pavilions, buildings, kiosks, and stages, and is a well-known temple and garden scenic area in Northeast China.
