Photographer Liu Bailing recently captured images of wild sables in deep snow in Xianfeng National Forest Park in Yanbian county, Jilin province.

Patiently waiting in the park for the whole day, he was able to make a variety of images of sables running, climbing trees and just looking around.

The wild sables are first-class protected animals in China and usually inhabit broadleaf-conifer mixed forests of Changbai Mountain and the Lesser Khingan Mountains.

Because of protection efforts over past years, the number of species sables has increased significantly in the mountain areas.
