Baishan in winter, a frozen city

Updated: December 14, 2020

Baishan, in the southeastern part of Jilin province and to the west of Changbai Mountain, has abundant natural treasures, which give it great tourist appeal. As a major lumber production area, it has a forest coverage rate of 83 percent. Resources, like ginseng, mink, and deer, as well as metal and nonmetal ores, and concentrated mineral water resources, nourish the "well-known land".

Visitors to Baishan can breathe the fresh air with a high content of negative oxygen ions, and taste northeastern Chinese cuisine. The local food, such as sticky baked buns, thin pancakes, stewed chicken with mushroom, and crispy sweet and sour pork are praised by visitors.
