A major photovoltaic project was completed and went into operation in Antu county, Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture of Jilin province, on Oct 28, according to local media reports.

Construction officially started on the photovoltaic project on Sept 15 this year, with a total investment of 320,000 yuan ($49,984).

The project will take full advantage of the benefits of clean solar energy, and its annual power generation is expected to reach 120,000 kilowatt-hours.

The project will further strengthen the local new energy industry and play a positive role in economic development, environmental improvement, and poverty alleviation.
