Jilin acts to boost graduate employment, entrepreneurship

Northeast China's Jilin province has introduced "Measures to Promote Employment and Entrepreneurship for College Graduates".

These focus on stabilizing employment for graduates, easing their uni to work transitions, promoting entrepreneurship, enhancing services and strengthening support. The plan includes 10 key actions with 30 specific measures.

One of the measures, called the Employment Assistance Action, aims to stabilize recruitment in public sectors and gather 200,000 market-oriented positions.

Graduates staying, returning, or coming to Jilin for employment will receive monthly living subsidies ranging from 1,000 ($138) to 2,500 yuan for up to 24 months.

Another measure, called the Guidance Action, focuses on building training centers, targeting 8,000 graduates within two years of leaving school.

These centers will offer various support services and a monthly subsidy of 1,500 yuan for up to 24 months. Graduates employed as research assistants will receive additional support and those facing financial difficulties will get one-time job search subsidies.

Meanwhile, the Entrepreneurship Support Action will raise entrepreneurship subsidies.

Under it, graduates starting businesses in Jilin within three years of graduation are eligible for subsidies and loans up to 30,000 yuan for individuals and 400,000 yuan for partnerships. Additionally, social insurance subsidies will be provided.

The Housing Support Action offers free housing for job-seeking graduates for up to one year.

Graduates employed or starting businesses in Jilin will receive monthly housing subsidies and those purchasing their first home will get one-time financial assistance.

Overall, these actions, along with other initiatives, aim to enhance services and attract more graduates to work and start businesses in Jilin.
