Jilin’s tourism sector shows recovery trend during holiday

During the three-day New Year Day holiday, which took place from Dec 31, 2022 to Jan 2, the cultural tourism market in Northeast China's Jilin province showed a recovery trend, according to local media reports.

According to information provided by the Jilin Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, during the three-day holiday, popular ice and snow tourism places such as Changchun, Jilin, and Changbai Mountains became the hottest destinations on online travel platforms.

During the period, Changbai Mountain Wanda International Resort received 12,900 tourists, a year-on-year increase of 25 percent. Lake Songhua Resort received an average of 4,300 tourists per day, an increase of 138 percent compared with the average daily average in the second half of December. Beidahu Ski Resort received an average of 2,400 tourists per day, an increase of 82 percent compared with the average daily average in the second half of December.

A series of ice and snow events such as the 26th Changchun Ice and Snow Festival, the 21st Chagan Lake Fishing and Hunting Cultural Tourism Festival, and the Meihe New District 2023 Ice and Snow Life Festival also opened during the holiday.
