The start of wind turbines rolling off the production line at a new plant was marked on July 11 with a ceremony held in the CRRC New Energy Industrial Park – located in Songyuan city, in Northeast China's Jilin province – showcasing the city's renewed progress being made in the new energy sector, according to local media reports.

The CRRC New Energy Industrial Park is the biggest single industrial project in Songyuan city.

Developed by China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation and Jilin province, it is the second biggest industrial center for CRRC in the region.

The complex will form a complete supply chain for the manufacturing of wind turbines, blades, generators, energy storage equipment and other equipment, with an annual output value of 40 billion yuan ($5.94 billion).

It is expected to pave the way for upstream and downstream enterprises in the supply chain to jointly build an industrial demonstration park, directly creating more than 4,000 jobs.

The wind turbines are innovative products specially tailored by CRRC for Jilin. Employing a well-tried and tested design for a horizontal axis, three-blade, upwind configuration and pitch adjustment, the turbines can achieve the customization of power, tower height, design parameters and control strategy. They have the advantage of high-power generation, reliability, adaptability and industrial supply chain synergies.

After the project is fully constructed, it will have an annual production capacity of 800 complete turbines, 800 towers, as well as 800 sets of blades and 800 generators, which will underpin the wind power industry in Songyuan city, as well as in Jilin province and even the Northeast China region.
