A new flight linking Songyuan in Northeast China's Jilin province with Chengdu in Southwest China's Sichuan province was launched on Dec 25, according to local media reports.

The flight, operated by Tibet Airlines, is scheduled to fly three times a week on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The one-way trip takes around three and a half hours.

Winter ice fishing at Chagan Lake in Songyuan consists of thousands of people drilling holes in the ice in an attempt to catch fresh fish. Vehicles run day and night for delivery.

Since 2002, Chagan Lake has been hosting a grand ice, snow, fishing and cultural tourism festival at the end of December.
