The Chagan Lake Ecological Town is currently under construction in Songyuan, Northeast China's Jilin province, with construction of the core area nearly completed, according to local media reports.

The ecological town is expected to open at the end of December this year.

Building a world-class ecological town will help turn Chagan Lake into an eco-tourism scenic spot and stimulate its local economic development. After the Chagan Lake Ecological Town is put into operation, the Chagan Lake Scenic Area is expected to become a world-class tourist attraction in Jilin province.
