A media delegation from the Cambodia-China Journalist Association visited the western scenic area of the Changbai Mountains – situated Jilin province – on Aug 3.
Dominating the southeastern part of Jilin, the Changbai Mountain range is the source of three major rivers.
It's renowned not only for its exquisite natural beauty but also for its unique volcanic geological features, which are said to be an absolutely outstanding example of Earth's Quaternary period.
It boasts glorious diverse sites – including Heavenly Lake, waterfalls, a grand canyon, hot springs, the vast Changbai Forest, alpine gardens and a rare vertical distribution of mountain vegetation.
The delegation also visited the Changbai Mountains Ginseng Culture Museum. It's extensive exhibits clearly intrigued the journalists, offering detailed insights into the cultural significance of ginseng.
They tried their hand in the interactive ginseng digging area – gaining a deeper understanding of Jilin's ginseng heritage.
