On June 3, Northeast China's Jilin province held cultural and tourism promotion events at the China Cultural Center in Paris. The event also featured the "Mountain Peaks" photography exhibition by Chinese and French photographers. Guests from UNESCO and cultural and tourism sectors of China and France attended the event.
Jilin is a major industrial base, grain producer, and clean energy hub in China, leading the country with a 6.5-percent GDP growth in Q1 2024. Known for its rich history and unique tourism resources, Jilin has excelled in cultural preservation and ecological sustainability. Changbai Mountain, located in Jilin, is a UNESCO Global Geopark and a top powder snow skiing destination.

The promotion event included a performance of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage called Farmers Dance, and traditional Jilin crafts like dough modeling and paper cutting. Fifty-four photographs showcased the grandeur of Changbai Mountain. The Changbai Mountain management and China International Travel Service Paris Visa Application Center signed an agreement to establish an overseas promotion center, facilitating travel for French citizens to Jilin.
On June 4, the China·Changbai Mountain Paris Promotion Center was officially inaugurated, marking a new chapter in Changbai Mountain's international promotion efforts. The center will use visa services to tell the story of Changbai Mountain and promote its tourism resources. Zhang Haomiao, head of the China Tourism Office in Paris, highlighted that the new center will enhance Changbai Mountain's brand influence and foster cooperation in areas like mountain sports and ski tourism.
