A Sino-French co-produced documentary entitled Aventure sur la Neige – in English, Adventure on the Snow – debuted on the Chinese national CCTV-9 channel on Jan 10, further promoting the ski resorts in Northeast China's Jilin province, according to local media reports.

The production, consisting of two 45-minute episodes, was jointly produced by the China Intercontinental Communication Center, the Jilin Provincial People's Government Information Office and French channel TV 8 Mont-Blanc.

In the documentary, skiers from China and France visit powder snow resorts in the two countries, namely in the department of Savoie in France and in Jilin province in China.

Skiers face up to extreme challenges to explore the unique terrain of China's Changbai Mountains and the French Alps, showcasing the harmony between man and nature.

The documentary took three years to make. It is understood that the producers hope to enable viewers to fully appreciate the unique winter skiing adventures to be had in both nations.

The documentary was broadcast on TV 8 Mont-Blanc in France over Christmas on Dec 23-26, reportedly receiving rave reviews.

It will be launched on major media platforms across China, with the approach of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, which are set to run in and around the national capital on Feb 4-20.
