Fusong county in Baishan city – located in Northeast China's Jilin province – was recently in the limelight because of its burgeoning ginseng industry.

That's because the county was one of the branch venues for the 2022 Ginseng Industry High Quality Development Conference, currently underway in the province.

The Changbai Mountains area is the origin of and core production area for Chinese ginseng, with a history of more than 450 years of cultivation of ginseng and a recorded history of more than 1,500 years of domestic use of wild ginseng. Fusong and Jingyu counties – under the administration of Baishan city – have been named the "Hometown of Chinese Ginseng" and "Hometown of Chinese American Ginseng," respectively.

In recent years, Baishan city has made every effort to optimize the medical and health industry based on ginseng and has plotted a path for the high-quality development of the ginseng sector.

During the 2022 Ginseng Industry High Quality Development Conference, a series of diverse and colorful activities will be held at the Baishan Fusong venue.
