The summer tourism season of the Changbai Mountains – located in Northeast China's Jilin province – has arrived, with a wide range of cultural tourism activities set to be staged there, as announced during a news conference held in Baishan city in Jilin on July 14.

The summer tourism activities, themed around Summer in Changbai Mountains, will feature the tourism resources of both Baishan city and Changbai Mountains and are scheduled to run to end-September.

Baishan city is located in the heart of Changbai Mountains, with Yalu River and Songhua River passing through it.

The city's forest coverage rate was recorded last year reaching 84.5 percent, ranking first among prefecture-level cities in the country. The proportion of days with good air throughout the year reached 98.1 percent and the city is now known as a "natural oxygen bar".
