Construction on the Baishan section of Shenyang-Changbaishan High-speed Railway (HSR) is currently underway in Baishan, Northeast China's Jilin province, according to local media reports.

The Shenyang-Changbaishan HSR is an important part of the Shenyang-Jiamusi HSR in the eastern part of Northeast China – and is also an important tourist channel from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and Northeast China's province of Liaoning to the Changbai Mountains Scenic Area.

The HSR has a total length of 429.78 kilometers and passes through Shenyang and Fushun in Liaoning province, as well as Tonghua, Baishan, Yanbian and Changbai Mountains in Jilin province. It ends at Changbaishan Station, which is under construction as part of the Dunhua-Baihe Railway.

The designed speed for the rail line 350 kilometers per hour, and it will be the first HSR linking Baishan with Tonghua, shortening the travel time from Beijing to the Changbai Mountains to 4.5 hours.
