The Wanfeng Tonghua Ski Resort – located in Tonghua city, in Northeast China's Jilin province – recorded a boom in tourist numbers and revenue when the recent Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics is in full swing and for many enthusiasts the adrenaline is still pumping.

During the seven-day Spring Festival holiday period, the ski resort received a total of 35,400 tourists and the operating income hit 10.11 million yuan ($1.59 million).

The facility, previously named the Jinchang Ski Resort, was China's first alpine ski resort when it was built in 1959.

Over the past six decades, it has hosted 16 national competitions and 30 provincial ones, also attracting many athletes for training.

The upgraded ski resort focuses on winter sports events services and leisure vacations. The resort now has 33 ski trails covering 1.17 square kilometers.

Both winter sports beginners and experts can enjoy the fun of skiing and snowboarding in the upgraded complex.
