The Shenyang-Baihe High-speed Railway (HSR) is currently under construction and is expected to be completed and start operating in 2025, according to local media reports.
The Shenyang-Baihe HSR is an important part of the Shenyang-Jiamusi HSR in the eastern part of Northeast China – and is also an important tourist channel from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and Northeast China's province of Liaoning to the Changbai Mountains Scenic Area.
The total length of the HSR is 429.78 kilometers, and the route passes through Shenyang and Fushun in Liaoning province, as well as Tonghua, Baishan, Yanbian and the Changbai Mountains in Jilin province. It ends at Changbaishan Station, which is currently under construction for the Dunhua-Baihe Railway.
The railway's designed speed is 350 kilometers per hour, and it will be the first HSR linking Baishan with Tonghua, shortening the travel time from Beijing to the Changbai Mountains to 4.5 hours.
