On March 12, the Momoge Wetlands in Zhenlai county, Northeast China's Jilin province, welcomed the arrival of the "migratory vanguard" – wild geese. They were seen forming V-shaped or W-shaped patterns in the sky, and at times gracefully gliding across the remaining ice.

Zhenlai county, located in the heart of the Songnen Plain, is an important stop for migratory birds. Every spring and autumn, hundreds of thousands of migratory birds pass through this region, but not before stopping to rest and breed.

Among these birds are white cranes, which are known to be the pride of Zhenlai. Serving as a migration route for over 80-percent of the world's white cranes, Zhenlai county is renowned as the "Hometown of Chinese White Cranes". In fact, it is also referred to as the "Five-Star Relay Station for White Crane Migration". Here, the migratory birds receive ample rest and replenishment, gathering energy for the next leg of their long journey.
