Jilin province has a land area of 187,400 square kilometers, accounting for 2 percent of the total land area of China. It stretches 769.62 kilometers from east to west and 606.57 km from north to south. It is bordered by Liaoning province to the south, Inner Mongolia autonomous region to the west and Heilongjiang province to the north. It is adjacent to Russian in the east and faces the Democratic People's Republic of Korea across the river in the southeast.
