Lishu county, located in Siping city, is situated in the renowned golden corn belt and is an important grain production area in Jilin province. The county has a cultivated land area of 3.94 million mu (262,533 hectares), and its annual grain production has been stable at over 2 billion kilograms for a prolonged period.

To protect and make good use of its black soil resources, Lishu county has been collaborating with research institutions, such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences and China Agricultural University, to research conservation tillage techniques for corn.

After years of exploration, the Lishu Model for black soil conservation has been developed. It revolves around the no-tillage cultivation technique with full coverage of corn straw. It also includes comprehensive soil testing and formula fertilization, green pest control measures, and the establishment of mechanized technical systems for straw mulching, sowing, fertilization, weed control, disease prevention, and harvesting.

In terms of daily management in the production base, strict control is exercised over the entire production process, and a standardized and traceable management system has been established to achieve basic standardization and normalization.
