Located in Qian Gorlos Mongolian autonomous county in Songyuan city of Jilin province, Chagan Lake Scenic Area is a comprehensive tourist service area that combines sightseeing, entertainment, leisure, vacation, dining and shopping with exhibitions.

It covers a total area of 600 square kilometers and consists of seven tourist functional areas, including a central area, a grassland scenery and Mongolian ethnic style tourism area, a water entertainment and leisure area, a picnic and camping area, a wetland ecological tourism area, a agricultural sightseeing area, and an oil industry tourism area.

Chagan Lake means a white and sacred lake in Mongolian. It has a water area of 500 sq km, making it one of the top 10 freshwater lakes in China and the largest inland lake in Jilin.

It is also the largest fishery production base, reed production base, and famous tourist destination in the province.

Chagan Lake is rich in natural resources and produces 68 species of fish, such as carp, silver carp, and crucian carp, with an annual output of over 6,000 metric tons of fresh fish.

Chagan Lake bighead carp has been certified as an organic product by the National Organic Food Certification Center.
