The first 1000Nm³/h (standard cubic meters per hour) alkaline water electrolyzer in Northeast China was completed at Yaojing New Energy (Jilin) Co in Taonan city, Jilin province, on Nov 6.

This achievement significantly supports the development of the local new energy equipment manufacturing industry cluster.

With a total investment of 150 million yuan ($20.95 million), the main products of this project are 1,000 cubic meters of alkaline electrolytic hydrogen production equipment, as well as supporting equipment such as gas separation and gas purification equipment. Once fully operational, the annual output value is expected to reach 700 million yuan, generating a profit of 50 million yuan.

As an electrical conversion device, the electrolyzer is crucial for renewable energy electrolytic hydrogen production technology. It is currently the only electrolytic hydrogen production equipment that meets the requirements of large-scale engineering applications, with the advantages of mature technology and low cost.

The Huadian Yaojing 300,000-ton green hydrogen synthesis ammonia project in Taonan officially started on the same day.

This project relies on the abundant wind resources in the area, utilizing green hydrogen synthesis ammonia technology to integrate new energy generation, electrolytic hydrogen production, and ammonia synthesis industries, achieving on-site utilization of new energy and comprehensive resource utilization. It is scheduled to start construction next year with a total investment of 10 billion yuan.
